We have designed our dental practice to be as calming and tranquil as possible. This includes:

• Allowing natural light through the windows wherever possible, avoiding harsh, sterile lighting.
• Displaying colourful pictures and posters on the walls.
• Closing surgery doors to mask dental smells and sounds.
• Playing soft music throughout the practice.
• Providing a water cooler for patient convenience.

We also try to pencil in nervous patients for the first appointment in the morning which gives them less time to worry and decreases waiting time. Patients are also encouraged to bring their headphones if they would like to distract themselves by listening to their favourite music.

Open communication

A significant part of being anxious or nervous about visiting the dentist is fear of the unknown. Apart from their comforting demeanour, our dentists and dental team excel at communication. We believe in explaining treatments in full and taking the time to answer any questions patients may have, so they’re fully informed throughout their procedure.

We also encourage nervous patients to try out some simple breathing techniques to relax before we begin an examination or treatment. Patients can also take control over their procedure by using simple hand signals to indicate when they need to take a break and when they’re ready to continue.
